Ullstein’s tradition reaches back over a hundred years. Founded by five entrepreneurial brothers in 1903, it is home to many renowned authors – among them John le Carré, Stéphane Hessel, Michael Sandel and Joan Didion. Ullstein is based in Berlin, a center of cultural and political movement and momentum. „Their motto was political liberalism and modern culture“, Arthur Koestler said about the five brothers who founded Ullstein.
