SHI TAO: In 2010, he joined jd.com (previously 360buy.com) up to now, as Vice President and GM of Global Business. He is the category leader of Books, Music, Movies, Educational video/audio, eBooks, digital music, global B2C and importation.

He is a well-known publisher and author. He graduated from university with bachelor's degree in Economics in 1982. After graduation, he served as civil servants, university lecturer, and magazine editor. He began writing in 1978 and published works in prominent literary journals including People's Literature, Harvest, Flower City, Fiction Monthly, Shanghai Literature, and Contemporary Literature. In 1988 he published his collected works Waiting in the Afternoon by the Flower City Press.

In the same year he went to the United States to study Western Philosophy at Ohio University. He earned Master of Arts Degree two years later. Before returning to China he had worked in various jobs including marketing analyst in publishing company and lecturer at a liberal arts college. In 1996, he returned to China, first worked as the Program Planner of CCTV. In the spring of 1998, he carved out Alpha Books and began his book publishing career. In 8 years time he published over 200 titles including the national No.1 bestseller CLASS, and a dozens of other bestseller titles.

Before serving jd.com, he joined Amazon China as Vice President in 2006, responsible for Books, Audio-video, Software and Games categories. In 2008, he was awarded the Annual Managers Award by the China Publishing Today and China Book Industry Committee.
