09:45 | 10:30 | PUBLISHING’S FUTURE AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY – RELEVATIONS FROM A DECADE OF ONLINE LITERATURE DEVELOPMENT OPENING KEYNOTE China's online literature had a pilot launch in 2005. By 2015, millions of authors realized their creative dream, thanks to online literature in China, which attracted more than 200 million readers, and created a group of wealthy authors. Driven by information technology, the impetus to literary creativity was released and literature itself changed, as a result. Online literature is of the market; it is inclusive but also subversive. Large volumes of great works emerged in the form of online literature; there is Nirvana in Fire(《琅琊榜》) and there is Blossoms(《繁 花》). Wu Shulin, former Vice Minister of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, and Managing Deputy Director-General of The Publishers Association of China, will, at the opening address, describe in detail the 10-year development history of online literature, summarize the implications of the development of online literature for publishing, and elaborate on his aspirations for and views on the future of academic publishing.
