Art touches - Peter Albach`s understanding of art, whose way to understand painting and graphics is both unusual and unique.

In 1974 he competed for the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig, but later started his career as a lawyer. In 1990 he got elected as mayor of his beloved hometown Weissensee in Thuringia - a position he held for more than 25 years. In 2005 he got elected as a member of the German Parliament. His artistic work, which he never forgot during his political career, especially caricatures, oil paintings and graphic reproductions, directly reflect his path of life.

A specially dedicated selection of his work with the name "People Planet" is shown for this exhibition here at Beijing for the first time. It is an integral part of "Human Planet" - a diary of impressions reflecting experiences during his time as a Member of Parliament and trips all around the world.
Traveling to the People's Republic of China in 2007 and 2008 has left without a doubt the deepest impression on him. The impact of these visits, not only on his art work, but even on his hometown, is clearly visible. During his time as mayor he triggered the construction of the largest Chinese single garden within Germany - the "garden of eternal happiness".

Parts of the cycle "Human Planet" was already shown on national exhibitions within Germany, especially at the Chinese Cultural Center Berlin, the Thuringian Parliament and single pieces even found its way to the Cupola of the International Space Station ISS from the 27th of March to the 12th of August 2015 for 168 days in space.
