architect, literary translator, founder of Northing

Ben has been living in Norway for more than 10 years, working as an architect. He was a partner and technology director at Himmelnord AS. Besides his professional work he translated and published several literature books, from English, Norwegian (incl. Nynorsk), Danish, and Swedish. His translation for “Beatles”, a Norwegian novel by Lars Saabye Christensen, was shortlisted for the Lu Xun Literary translation award in 2014. He co-founded Northing in 2016 together with visual designer Yilei Wang, in order to facilitate the cultural exchange, especially for the youth culture, between Norway and China. All Northing’s projects concern or are inspired by books, and are oftentimes extended to other fields like art, design, architecture, music, and performance etc..
