What have you been busy with lately?
Busy with books.
Will you be publishing new books in 2017?
I hope so.
You’ve been monitoring the “Most Beautiful Books in Germany” traveling exhibition in China. What features in “The Beauty of Books in Germany” are worth learning?
Cohesive design, comfortable reading function, and well-structured technique.
Your books have received the titles “World’s Most Beautiful Book” and “The Beauty of Books in China” several times. What sort of books can be described as being “Most Beautiful”?
A perfect combination of form and content. Of course, the beauty of a book is primarily determined by the beauty of its content.
When did you become interested in bugs? And how did it snowball subsequently?
I became interested in 2007. I find being with bugs untiring and amusing.
A lot of your works strongly advocate “slow living”. Is this contradictory?
Not at all. That’s because I embark on many of my works very early on. It’s like the fruit trees in an orchard. When the time comes, they bloom and fruit naturally.
The share of digital reading has been increasing every year. Does this affect your creation?
Of course it does. It urges me to devote my energy to working conscientiously on each printed book.
Can you talk about the plans for your “true nature book”?
The “true nature book” is being created as nature takes its course.
