13:30 - 14:10 | All about picture books KEYNOTE “Focus on the future of children’s books” (I) Book illustrations tell a story behind the story and beautiful images can set your imagination free. How did picture books become popular? What sells well? How have taste and technology evolved? What is the current status of picture books particularly in an age when new technologies often drive entertainment rather than genuine creativity? Having successfully published picture books in all five continents, no one is more suitable to provide insights into how to tell a story visually than veteran picture book publisher Michael Neugebauer, who will share his knowledge about the history and the future of children’s picture books. Speaker:
14:10 - 14:50 | The next trends in child reading: New technology, new interface and new possibilities KEYNOTE “Focus on the future of children’s books” (II) In pursuit of neither scale efficiency nor the existing market. The appearance of citickids has attracted much market attention, particularly its development in the area of cross-industry integration between new technology and children’s book publishing. Lu Jun, deputy editor of CITIC Press Group/editor-in-chief of citickids, using the high growth rate experienced by citickids as a case study, will analyze the impact of the mutual empowerment of the inherent strength of the Internet and the creative economy, as well as an all-new social collaborative efficiency system on driving children’s publishing. Speaker:
14:50 - 15:30 | IP management of children's content Industry KEYNOTE “Focus on the future of children’s books” (III) IP management of children’s content products is nothing new. With Disney as the benchmark, many domestic enterprises jumped on the bandwagon and ended up being martyrs. “Children’s content industry” and “full copyright operation” may appear wonderful at first glance, but in China today, these have sunk to the level of a gimmick - a story told to investors and the pretext for seeking aid from the government. Meanwhile, the animation industry, despite all the fanfare, have seen individual investors lose their shirts, and nations rarely get their investment back. The traditional children’s pu1blishing industry has been hovering at low levels on a small scale ...... Is this because the timing premature, or is it because the industry has taken the wrong direction? Can mobile Internet lead to opportunities? In this address, publishing planner/founder of “One Way Street” bookstores/investor of Baby Cube, Yang Wenxuan, will share his thoughts on the aforesaid questions with the audience. Speaker:
