Sven Hänke is a lecturer for Linguistics and German Literature with teaching experiences at Nankai University, University of International Business and Economics and Humboldt University of Berlin. He currently teaches at Renmin University of China and holds the post as director of the DAAD lecturers program His academic field of interest is Cognitive Linguistics and he worked extensively on time metaphors in Chinese and German.

After arriving in China in 2006 for the first time hardly without any understanding for this country Sven Hänke stayed for more than six years. He became an influential intercultural blogger and published a well-received book about his culture shock experience titled “Nackte Hochzeit” (naked wedding).
