Börsenblatt
The Börsenblatt is Germany‘s oldest professional journal. It was founded by the German Publishers and Booksellers Association (Börsenverein) in 1834. The journal is published weekly and has a total circulation of 9.000 copies. Its coverage is five times higher than its print run.
All Members of the Börsenverein get the Börsenblatt for free in the course of their membership. The target groups of the journal are booksellers, publishers, libraries, apprentices, students of book science, cultural institutions, service providers and editorial staffs.
Besides its print edition the Börsenblatt has a website: boersenblatt.net. Up to 15 news, articles and op-eds are uploaded every day. Some of the articles come from the print edition. The news of the day are distributed by an e-mail newsletter that is sent out at 2 p.m. to more than 14.000 subscribers.
The Börsenblatt is the official organ of the Börsenverein and likewise a specialized magazine for the whole book industry. It covers developments inside the association as well as events like the yearly „Buchtage“ (Book Days) in Berlin. On occasion of the Leipzig book fair in spring and the Frankfurt book fair in autumn several issues of the magazine are published with a focus on the fair agenda and events. For the association and its members the Börsenblatt is the central platform for communication and exchange.
As professional magazine for the book branch the Börsenblatt covers current developments and trends in the German language markets and in the companies. It provides its readers with facts, information, analysis and opinion. The task field of the editorial staff under the direction of editor-in-chief Torsten Casimir encompasses also the coverage of international book markets and the global activities of the Frankfurt book fair.
