S. Fischer Verlag

S. Fischer Verlag was founded in 1886 by Samuel Fischer. He was the first to publish many now famous authors such as Franz Kafka, Arthur Schnitzler, Hugo von Hoffmannsthal and Thomas Mann. Today S. Fischer Verlag is part of the Holtzbrinck group. It comprises the divisons S. Fischer, Krüger, Scherz, Fischer Taschenbuch, Fischer TOR, FJB, Fischer KJB, Fischer Theater and Media and several imprints in the children’s books segment. S. Fischer Verlag publishes literary and commercial fiction, modern classics and academic and popular nonfiction with a focus on sociology and history, as well as books for children and young adults.
