Jeffrey Sharp has distinguished himself as an award-winning producer and publishing entrepreneur in a variety of media across various channels and formats. He is currently President/CEO of Story Mining & Supply Co., a Los Angeles-based production company committed to acquiring, developing, financing and producing multi-platform premium content through unique access to quality material. In addition, Sharp is the Co-Founder and President of Production at Open Road Integrated Media, a leading digital publishing company.

In Asia, Story Mining & Supply has formed relationships with several leading publishing companies in China and Taiwan, including Shanda Cloudary and Jimmy SPA, to source IP for feature and television development with partner Village Roadshow Asia. SMS Asia leverages its Hollywood development and production relationships by partnering US-based screenwriters with Asia-based filmmakers to create quality commercial projects for the China and Greater Asian markets. SMS Asia recently announced its first project, Polaroid Stories at Hong Kong Filmart, which is based on a soon-to-published memoir to be adapted by a US screenwriter and director by Pang Ho-Cheung.

In the US, Story Mining & Supply is currently in production on the TV show OUTLANDER, based upon the best-selling book series by Diana Gabaldon, with Ron Moore (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) show running for an August, 2014 premiere. On the feature side, the company is in pre-production on THE YELLOW BIRDS by Kevin Powers (National Book Award Finalist) with David Lowery (AIN'T THEM BODIES SAINTS) writing and directing.

Sharp has produced a series of Academy Award winning and Golden Globe nominated films over the past ten years like BOYS DON'T CRY, YOU CAN COUNT ON ME, NICHOLAS NICKLEBY AND PROOF. With those movies as well as other renowned adaptations, including A HOME AT THE END OF THE WORLD, THE NIGHT LISTENER, and EVENING, Sharp has worked to develop new models for integration of the publishing and film industries.

Sharp holds an MFA from Columbia University and a BA from Colgate University. In 2005, the Columbia University School of the Arts honored him with the Andrew Sarris award for his contribution to independent film.

Sharp currently serves as Chairman of the Hamptons International Film Festival Advisory Board, Executive Board of Literacy Partners (literacypartners.org), Founding Advisor for the Book Meets Film Forum at the Taipei International Book Expo as well as a member of the Advisory Board of BookExpo of America. He is a member of BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts).
