Nora Mercurio is Rights Director for Suhrkamp, Insel Verlag and all their imprints, responsible for the complete range of intellectual property and contracts, both originating content and acquisitions, for treasuring backlist, as well as for overseeing all licensing activities, including film rights.

Nora Mercurio started in 1999 as editorial intern at Schöffling Verlag. She came to love the rights trading during a Suhrkamp traineeship in 2000/2001. Due to personal reasons she went back to Italy, where she was working as a freelance reader and scout for various international publishers until 2004. Since 2004 she moved back to Germany with her family and returned to Suhrkamp as editorial assistant in the nonfiction department. In 2006 Nora joined the rights and foreign rights department again under the leadership of Dr. Petra Hardt. In 2017 Nora has been promoted to be the head of the department.
